The Unknown!

A Lesson from Peter!

Matthew 14:28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

My favorite lesson to learn from Peter in this instance is this;

It takes great faith to step into the unknown.

Every day is a Great adventure into this place called the “Unknown”…

The “Unknown” is a place filled with questions of success, failure, timing, will, acceptance, deliverance, favor, or perseverance.

What “Unknown” is God calling you to today? What “Unknown” has He placed in your heart?

The late Pastor John Osteen of Lakewood Church said to a Pastor friend who was contemplating starting a church, “step out, and see if God breathes on it”. Great advice.

Do what Peter did…step out! Take that step of faith…BUT…stay focused on HIM! Don’t loose sight of HIM…reach out your hand to HIM…trust in HIM!

Jesus will always be there to take your hand when you need Him the most. When He does…He will be glorified in your situation.

This is a great lesson for Christians, Pastors and Church Planters alike.

This life is a great adventure.

Come on…”Step Into the Unknown”!
